Both my boys have Halloween Parties at school today so we decided to help them celebrate with some festive Halloween cupcakes. Mummies, Spiders, and a variety of Monsters. The cupcakes are vanilla and double chocolate. The decorations are all buttercream.
I really do love the mummy! I've wanted to make these forever so thankfully, it's checked off my list!

Truly Custom Cakery - Coming Soon to Warminster, PA!
It really is amazing how sometimes we hit a wall and aren't sure how to proceed. And then by taking things a day at a time, God reveals His plan. The best part is that His plan is often far better than any plan we could have laid out for ourselves. Since I started making custom cakes over a year ago, it has become evident that I need to get my license so that my cakes can be offered for sale.
At times this process seemed overwhelming and VERY expensive! However, when the time is right, the time is right! We are in the process of getting that license and very soon, Truly Custom Cakery will be open for business.
I'm very excited about the future and can't wait to make your next special occasion cake! Stay tuned for the launch of my website and the "Grand Opening"!!!

Here's a Christening Cake for a friend. The bottom tier is a 10" square pound cake.
The gift box is made up of 2-8" square pound cakes stacked with raspberry filling between the layers. It is iced in buttercream with homemade marshmallow fondant. Everything is handmade. The box top is made of foam core and covered with fondant. Other than the top of the box, the entire cake is edible. The tissue paper is gum paste rolled VERY thin.

A Family Affair... Cake Decorator, Designer, Photographer, & DJ
When I'm not chasing my kids, or being social (which I love!!!!), I can very often be found at the computer. It's like an escape or a hobby... not sure. But sometimes, it is where I enjoy being. And even better, sometimes it really pays off for me to spend a little quality time here.
My father's retirement "job" is wedding photography. It's been a life long passion of his that got squelched by kids, a house, a full time job, bills, and life in general. Once my brother's and I moved out, it gave him the opportunity to focus a little on his own dreams and passions, which has been very cool to watch.
My background is in graphic design and photo editing. So before I had kids and discovered cake, I worked in a marketing department at a local bank. It's where I developed a lot of the skills I use now on my blog and making sure my photos look good to post. It also gave me the skills to help my father with his photography business.
Over the past several years, I've been privileged enough to design several wedding albums for him. This particular wedding album was really cool to design because I also made the wedding cake. Not too often that happens! AND my brother was not only an assistant photographer, but he held the role of DJ at the reception.
hummm.... we could be on to something here... Anyway, I wanted to share a little of what I do outside of cake. So here's a link to the latest album. The cake I designed has daisies, yellow roses, and blue butterflies. It was my first wedding cake. I'm really proud of what this album represents for our family.

Romantic Roses 60th Anniversary Cake
Made for the parents of a very good friend of ours. It's shorter than a standard #2 pencil. Pound Cake with homemade raspberry filling. Iced in buttercream and covered with fondant. I LOVE this cake. As a kid I used to sculpt tiny roses out of clay and make jewelery. So it was somewhat nostalgic to sit and make tiny roses again. They are all about the size of a child's fingertip.
Happy Anniversary Mr. & Mrs. D!!! 60 years is quite an accomplishment and I'm so glad I was able to make your cake for you!
