Mom's 60th Birthday Cake

This is my favorite cake to date. It took forever but was a blast and turned out really well. It's a chocolate cake with mint chocolate chip filling. Iced in butter cream with fondant accents. Figures and accent details are all made of fondant and gum paste. There are a few support pieces that are not edible. Mom loved it!

Stacey made this cake for my 60th birthday. I can't begin to tell you what a hit it was with me as well as my guests. There was so much detail to it that we could not stop looking at. Such amazing detail and all hand made.
And let me not forget to mention that it tasted as good as it looked! Some of my friends said that they don't normally go back for seconds on cake but couldn't resist on this one. Now that is quite a commendation!

This is still my favorite (although, Mr. Evans cake is up there!), maybe because they're my in-laws! You really captured their personalities. The pool happens to be so much better than the real thing! = ) I'm just amazed at the details.
