Romantic Roses 60th Anniversary Cake

Made for the parents of a very good friend of ours. It's shorter than a standard #2 pencil. Pound Cake with homemade raspberry filling. Iced in buttercream and covered with fondant. I LOVE this cake. As a kid I used to sculpt tiny roses out of clay and make jewelery. So it was somewhat nostalgic to sit and make tiny roses again. They are all about the size of a child's fingertip.

Happy Anniversary Mr. & Mrs. D!!! 60 years is quite an accomplishment and I'm so glad I was able to make your cake for you!

Happy 10th Anniversary Calvary Chapel Central Bucks!

In honor of the 10th Anniversary of our church, Calvary Chapel of Central Bucks. You can learn more about Calvary Chapel by visiting their website at http://www.calvarycentralbucks.org. We are thrilled to be a part of this church family.

The Cake is made up of 3 tiers (10", 8", & 6"). Each tier consists of a double chocolate bottom layer, a mocha toffee filling, and then a layer of vanilla. The layers are iced in buttercream and covered with home made marshmallow fondant.

One Crazy Week

My good friend Nicole was drafted to make a surprise 30th Birthday cake for a good friend. I offered to help her and we worked side by side. She worked on her 30th Birthday cake while I worked on the Monster truck. It was a LOT of fun to have someone to share in the creative process. We did a lot of laughing, a little commiserating, and made a HUGE mess 3 nights in a row. It was a blast. I hope we can work on another project together in the future.

Other than helping her learn how to make fondant and cover a cake, the only other thing I did is help make the topper. She did the rest by herself! Not bad for her first attempt at fondant. She did a great job!!!
