Giraffe Baby Shower Cake to match bedding.

This is a baby shower cake to match a bedding set. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. It was a pain staking process as I acquired a new "tool" that I had to learn to operate in order to pull this cake off. If you have heard of the "Cricut", that's my new tool. It is intended for scrapbooking. However... I've adapted it to use with sugar paste so that I can cut ANY shape I want to put on the side of the cake without having to get custom cutters made or using a pattern and an x-acto knife. So... all the giraffe print from the bottom tier was cut with the cricut. The trees and giraffe on the top tier were also cut with the cricut. I spent most of my free time this week learning how to "make it work" but by last night, I could go to the computer, load my pattern, load my paste, and get my cut ON THE FIRST TRY!!

Classic Pooh Baby Shower Cake

Made this cake for a friend of mine. The nursery is Classic Pooh. The instructions were that the cake had to have some blue in it and it had to have a Classic Pooh Theme. Other than that... no rules.

Double Chocolate cake, Chocolate Cheesecake Ganache filling, old fashioned white icing, home made marshmallow fondant. Decorations are royal icing and sugar paste. Everything is sculpted and piped by hand.

Welcome Baby Kipp! Little Lion Baby Shower.

This was my first cake/cupcake combination. The top cake is a 6" double chocolate cake with whipped chocolate frosting. The cupcakes are double chocolate with vanilla icing on some and whipped chocolate on others. The display and cakes are all made to match the shower invitation.

Congratulations Rod & Amy! Can't wait to meet baby Kipp!

Sweet Baby Girl...

Okay, here's the baby girl. Isn't she just precious! I think I know 4 or 5 pregnant people right now and every one of them is having a boy. Don't know when I'll ever get to use her, but I do love how she turned out.

Both of these little ones, are made using a silicone mold from First Impressions Molds. They have incredible products and the investment was worth every penny. All the extra details are hand painted or added. The mold only does the naked little baby. But the possibilities are endless.

Don't you just love her little diaper!?!

Precious little one...

Okay... this speaks for itself. I'm ready to do a baby shower cake. Just itching to do a baby shower cake. Is this not the most precious cake topper you ever saw???

This baby is all made of gum paste with a fondant blanket and gum paste bow. I have another little guy drying that I'll show you later. Can't wait to see how that one turns out. Maybe I'll make that one a girl... Stay tuned!
