50th Birthday Whimsical Topsy Turvey Mad Hatter Cake

Made this cake at the request of a client. She and her sister are twins and are celebrating their 50th Birthday. They are full of life and wanted a cake that reflected their fun personalities and youth. So no "over the hill" references on this cake! It's a memory cake with various memories represented around each tier. It is divided into two color schemes to reflect their own color palates.

Thanksgiving Pumpkin Place Card Cookies

Made these to decorate the dinner table and help everyone know where to sit. They are soft sugar cookies with an almond citrus royal icing. My husband taste tested 2 before I even had the icing made. This recipe passes the test. I'll wrap each one individually once the icing dries and then they will be packaged to be eaten or saved for another day.

Happy Birthday to Me! The KitchenAid Stand Mixer of my Dreams!

Okay... so I've been drooling over this for quite some time now and just haven't wanted to spend the money. Sooo... I'd make batch after batch of icing, and split my cakes into more manageable batches... and when I'd overload my poor little KitchenAid (that has served me VERY well), I'd hear the poor motor start protesting... I have known for a while that with more and more cakes, I'd have to upgrade and the time has finally come! My 4.5 quart KitchenAid that I got as a wedding gift more than 10 years ago is now a back-up.

Say hello to my new 6 quart beauty!

I'm sooo excited! Do you know this baby can mix 13 dozen cookies in one batch??? I'm sooo tempted to try! Thanks to Kohl's Dept. Store for having a great sale, mailing me a 30% off coupon and for allowing me to use that coupon multiple times so I could earn lots of Kohl's cash and go buy my Birthday Present. Thanks also go to my Mom, Dad, Grandmother, and Mother-in-law for your contributions!

Lighted Glass Block Decorations Available Now!!!

The Holiday's are by far my favorite time of year! I really get into the festivities and if I see something I like, leave it to me to try and personalize it and tweak it into something new and special!

A couple of years ago I saw some of these lighted block decorations at a fund raiser. I just loved them and took the idea home to my husband and said "We have to make these!". He's so accommodating that he got a drill bit and stood out in the cold freezing his hands drilling glass blocks for me. Of course once other people saw them, we were using them as gifts. Then others wanted them and I started selling them. Every time he turned around I was sending him on a trip for more supplies.

So... when this time of year rolls around, my husband "prepares" himself. Between ornaments, candy, Holiday Crunch, glass blocks, cakes, and the routine craziness of the holiday's, I totally turn our world upside down. My kids are great too! They LOVE helping and had a blast stuffing lights inside of blocks for me.

Here's the start of what is available this Holiday Season. These are all custom made lighted Glass Block decorations. You can get a variety of sizes and designs. If you see something you like, RESERVE IT!! No two are alike and I can't promise that I'll be able to get my hands on the same supplies to duplicate a block if someone snatches it out from under you.

These blocks will be on sale at Redemption Christian PreSchool during their Breakfast with Santa on December 5, 2009 and I will be at New Life Presbyterian Church for the annual Glenside Farmer's Market Holiday Craft Show. Also on December 5, 9:00am-3:00pm. Plan to come out and purchase Holiday Crunch and Glass Blocks among many other items available that day.

Bridal Shower Lingerie Cake with Bra & Panties

Made this bridal shower cake for the daughter of some very good friends. This is a White Almond Sour Cream Cake with Strawberry Filling.

The design is a gift box with sugar paste bra & pantie set. The colors of the wedding are red, white, and black, so the shower cake was made to coordinate.

Congratulations Amber and Ryan!!!
